We work to improve access to clean water in communities that face water shortages, contamination, inadequate infrastructure, and/or limited resources.
Safe water allows girls to attend school rather than walking for miles and miles to fetch water which may be contaminated. Can you imagine bathing in dirty water with parasites or drinking water that is contaminated with scum because there is the only source of water?
Even in the U.S., there are families must buy their water at the grocery store since they
have no running water and many need to stretch resources for drinking, bathing,
cooking, cleaning, and have no hot water for bathing or cleaning. Many must boil the
water, especially when caring for infants.
3,300 people, mostly children, die from diarrhea due to drinking contaminated water
everyday in the world….which is 1.2 million deaths every year. This number is the
equivalent of 8 fully-loaded Boeing 747 planes crashing every single day.
